The Hospital Operations Manager is responsible for managing the daily administrative and operational functions of the hospital. This role ensures smooth coordination between clinical, non-clinical, and support services to provide high-quality patient care while maintaining efficiency, compliance, and financial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day hospital operations, including patient services, administration, and facility management.
Coordinate with clinical staff, nursing, pharmacy, laboratory, and other departments for seamless patient care delivery.
Develop and implement hospital policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality standards.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation, and safety protocols.
Monitor hospital budgets, control expenses, and optimize resource utilization.
Manage patient admission, discharge, billing, and support services to ensure smooth workflows.
Supervise staff scheduling, performance, and training needs.
Handle vendor management, procurement of medical/non-medical supplies, and inventory control.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as patient satisfaction, bed occupancy, turnaround times, and efficiency levels.
Lead emergency preparedness, risk management, and ensure hospital safety standards.
Support hospital management in strategic planning and expansion activities.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Hospital Administration, Healthcare Management, Business Administration, or related field.
5+ years of experience in hospital or healthcare operations management.
Strong knowledge of hospital workflows, NABH/JCI standards, and healthcare regulations.
Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in hospital information systems (HIS) and MS Office tools.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost control.
