Job Description

: Roles & Responsibilities



Vehicle Placement & Deployment

o Manage and ensure the timely placement and having knowledge of Trailer, Multi axle, Taurus, Semi-Trailer, FBT, SLBT, HCV, MCV and other heavy commercial vehicles across Pan-India routes.

o Liaise with clients and internal sales teams to understand load requirements and mobilize suitable fleets accordingly.

o Coordinate with vendors, own fleet drivers, and local operators to ensure availability and reliability of vehicles.

o Lead and supervise a multi-location operations team including regional logistics coordinators, fleet supervisors, and driver support staff.

o Monitor team KPIs vehicle turnaround time, trip completion rate, empty return cost, etc.

o Conduct regular training and performance reviews for operational staff.

o Build and maintain a reliable vendor base for vehicle sourcing.

o Negotiate freight rates, contracts, and service agreements with local transporters and fleet owners.

o Oversee driver allocation, behaviour, and grievance handling along with the team.

o Optimize vehicle routing to reduce empty runs, fuel cost, and transit delays.

o Manage route planning for North, South, East & West zones to streamline operations.

o Analyze load patterns, seasonal demands, and route profitability.

o Ensure full compliance with RTO norms, road permits, tolls, insurance, and vehicle fitness.

o Track daily vehicle movements and generate MIS reports from the team on vehicle status, placement, delivery, and delay.

o Monitor budget across regions and prepare monthly operations dashboards.

o Coordinate closely with sales, client servicing, billing, and accounts teams.

o Serve as escalation point for client delivery complaints or transit delays.

Desired Qualifications



Graduate or Postgraduate in Logistics / Supply Chain / Operations Management & Auto sector Experience.MBA

Desired Experience



Minimum 8-12 years years of experience in transport operations, specifically in Trailer, Multi axle, Taurus, Semi-Trailer, FBT, SLBT, HCV, MCV and other heavy commercial vehicles In-depth knowledge of Pan-India transport network, regional permits, and terrain-specific challenges.

Strong leadership and decision-making ability.

Proficiency in MS Excel, TMS/ERP systems, and vehicle tracking platforms.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Functional skills

o Strong understanding of warehousing models (dedicated/shared), distribution, value-added services, and multimodal transport.

Proven Track Record -

o Demonstrated success in closing large-value contracts (>?50M per annum) and managing enterprise accounts.

Network -

o Strong connections in industries such as FMCG, e-commerce, pharma, auto, and manufacturing.

Operational Management -

o Ability to efficiently oversee day-to-day branch operations, ensuring smooth and effective processes.

o Implement and optimize operational procedures to enhance efficiency.

Sales and Business Development -

o Expertise in developing and implementing strategies to achieve sales targets and expand the client base.

o Identify and pursue business development opportunities in the Indian transport market.

Customer Relationship Management -

o Skills in maintaining and enhancing relationships with existing clients.

o Ability to address customer concerns promptly and proactively.

Vendor Management -

o Negotiation skills to secure favorable contracts with transportation service providers.

o Evaluate vendor performance and ensure service level agreements are met.

Time and Resource Management -

o Efficiently manage branch schedules and allocate resources optimally.

o Prioritize tasks to ensure timely and effective service delivery.

Market Analysis and Strategy -

o Analytical skills to assess market trends, competition, and industry developments.

o Develop and implement strategies to position the branch competitively.
