The Operations Head is responsible for overseeing and ensuring smooth, efficient, and cost-effective functioning of all operational departments. The role involves strategic planning, coordinating inter-department activities, improving processes, maintaining quality standards, ensuring compliance, and supporting overall organizational growth.
Oversee day-to-day operations across all departments.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines.
Coordinate with HODs to resolve operational issues promptly.
Monitor and ensure optimal utilization of resources and manpower.
2. Quality, Compliance & Standards
Implement and monitor operational SOPs and workflows.
Ensure compliance with NABH / statutory regulations (for hospitals).
Conduct internal audits and ensure corrective actions.
Maintain high service quality, patient/customer satisfaction, and safety standards.
3. Strategic Planning & Execution
Assist management in developing short- and long-term operational strategies.
Plan and execute new projects, expansions, and process improvement initiatives.
Drive cost optimization, productivity enhancement, and waste reduction.
4. Interdepartmental Coordination
Facilitate effective communication between clinical, non-clinical, and support teams (for hospitals).
Ensure timely availability of supplies, equipment, manpower, and services.
Lead coordination meetings and monitor action points until completion.
5. Vendor & Facility Management
Oversee outsourced services such as housekeeping, security, maintenance, cafeteria, and logistics.
Ensure proper facility management, equipment upkeep, and AMC renewals.
Negotiate with vendors for cost efficiency and service quality.
6. Staff Management & Development
Supervise operations teams, including supervisors and support staff.
Monitor staff performance, shift planning, and attendance.
Identify training needs and support HR in staff development and orientation.
7. Customer/Patient Experience (for hospitals)
Monitor patient feedback, complaints, and service gaps.
Implement improvement actions to maintain a smooth patient flow.
Ensure empathetic and professional service delivery at all touchpoints.
8. Reporting & Documentation
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly operational reports for management review.
Maintain documentation required for internal audits and accreditation.
Track KPIs such as TAT, productivity, cost, quality indicators, and satisfaction scores.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Knowledge of operational quality standards, process mapping, and resource planning.
Familiarity with healthcare operations (preferred for hospital settings).
Qualification & Experience:
Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred).
7-15+ years of experience in operations, including leadership roles.
Experience in hospital/healthcare operations (preferred if applicable).
