The Operations Head is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's overall operational and project activities, with a strong focus on construction management. The role ensures efficient planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects while driving operational excellence, cost efficiency, and compliance with quality and safety standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in construction processes, and the ability to manage multiple teams and stakeholders.
Key Roles and Responsibilities.
Develop and execute operational strategies to meet company goals and project timelines.
Lead and mentor operations and project management teams across multiple sites.
Collaborate with senior management to shape policies, procedures, and long-term growth plans.
Manage full lifecycle of construction projects including planning, scheduling, execution, and closure.
Review project designs, BOQs, technical documents, and ensure alignment with project requirements.
Monitor site progress and ensure adherence to timelines, quality standards, and cost constraints.
Build and implement SOPs, workflows, and policies for smooth operations.
Optimize resource allocation, manpower planning, equipment utilization, and procurement processes.
Prepare and manage operational and project budgets.
Track project costs, analyze deviations, and ensure cost-effective execution.
Approve vendor payments, project bills, and financial statements related to operations.
Oversee procurement processes, vendor evaluation, and contract negotiations.
Ensure timely availability of materials, machinery, and workforce.
Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, suppliers, and third-party service providers.
Ensure implementation of QA/QC practices across all construction sites.
Enforce adherence to statutory regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
Coordinate with clients, consultants, engineers, and government bodies for project approvals and updates.
Address client concerns, manage expectations, and ensure superior service delivery.
Provide timely updates and reports to senior leadership and project stakeholders.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's degree in, Construction Management, or related field (Master's preferred).
3-5+ years of experience in construction, infrastructure, or real estate operations.
Proven track record in managing large-scale construction projects.
Strong understanding of engineering drawings, project execution, and construction methodologies.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera, ERP, etc.).
Strong communication and vendor management skills.
