Job Description

Account Assistant roles in the hotel industry involve supporting the accounting department with daily financial tasks, including recording transactions, processing invoices, and managing payments. These positions are often entry-level, providing a foundation for a career in finance within the hospitality sector. Key Responsibilities:

Recording Transactions:

Accurately documenting financial transactions in various ledgers (e.g., day books, supplier and customer ledgers, general ledger).

Accounts Receivable/Payable:

Processing invoices, payments, and managing accounts related to customers and vendors.

Bank Reconciliations:

Comparing bank statements with company records to ensure accuracy.

Financial Reporting:

Assisting in the preparation of financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Data Entry and Record Keeping:

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.

Assisting with Audits:

Providing support during internal or external audits.
Skills and Qualifications:

Accounting Software Proficiency:

Experience with accounting software like Tally, QuickBooks, or others used in the hotel industry.

Microsoft Excel Skills:

Proficiency in using Excel for data analysis and reporting.

Strong attention to detail:

Accuracy is crucial in financial record-keeping.

Organizational Skills:

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Basic Accounting Knowledge:

Understanding of fundamental accounting principles.

Hospitality Experience (Preferred):

Previous experience working in a hotel or related environment can be beneficial.
