We are looking for dedicated
OPD Staff
to support patient flow, clinical activities, and overall OPD operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Patient Handling & Frontline Support
Greet patients, verify appointments, and assist with registration.
Guide patients through OPD flow--consultation rooms, diagnostic areas, and billing.
Provide basic information about hospital services, procedures, and waiting times.
Ensure a courteous and comforting experience for all patients.
2. OPD Coordination & Workflow Management
Maintain smooth coordination between consultants, optometrists, nursing staff, and diagnostic units.
Organize patient queues, manage follow-ups, and support emergency case management.
Assist in preparing patients before examinations or minor procedures.
3. Documentation & Records Management
Enter patient details, case history, and diagnostic information in the hospital management system (HMS).
Ensure accurate filing of reports, prescriptions, investigation printouts, and consent forms.
Maintain confidentiality of medical records as per hospital and NABH guidelines.
4. Clinical Assistance (Non-technical)
Assist doctors during OPD consultations by retrieving previous records or investigation results.
Ensure availability of instruments, stationery, and required materials in OPD rooms.
Coordinate with diagnostic teams for OCT, Fundus Photography, Perimetry, Biometry, etc.
5. Patient Education & Communication
Provide pre- and post-consultation instructions to patients.
Counsel patients regarding follow-up schedules, medication routines, or surgery bookings (as instructed by consultants).
Communicate delays, schedule changes, or doctor availability updates politely.
6. Administrative & Support Functions
Handle appointment scheduling (walk-in + telephonic).
Coordinate with billing for investigations, procedures, and surgical bookings.
Maintain OPD cleanliness, safety, and infection-control standards.
Assist in audits, training sessions, and internal quality programs as needed.
Qualifications & SkillsEducation
Minimum 12th pass; preference for graduates (B.Sc, BA, B.Com or equivalent).
Certification in healthcare administration or experience in an eye hospital is an advantage.
Experience
0-3 years of experience in OPD / hospital patient care role (eye hospital preferred).
Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer proficiency (HMS usage, data entry, printing).
Ability to manage patient flow calmly and efficiently.
Empathetic, patient-friendly, and service-oriented attitude.
