As a tutor at Nurture Academy, you will deliver online lessons (individual or group) in your subject / language, design lesson plans, monitor student progress, and support them to reach academic or language?proficiency goals. You will work as part of a collaborative team of educators, aligning with Nurture Academy's teaching philosophy and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging online lessons according to curriculum requirements or agreed course outline.
Prepare instructional materials, assignments, and interactive resources suitable for online teaching (for language, academic subjects, or other courses).
Adapt teaching methods to meet individual student learning needs and pace.
Provide one?on?one or small?group tutoring sessions as needed/assigned.
Track and assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain regular communication with students (and where needed, parents/guardians).
Help students build strong fundamentals (in language or subject matter), and support skill-building (reading, writing, speaking, problem?solving, critical thinking).
Encourage good study habits, confidence, motivation, and a growth mindset.
Collaborate with other tutors/coordinators for course scheduling, progress tracking, and continuous improvement of teaching practices.
Maintain professionalism: punctuality, reliability, patience, empathy, confidentiality, and a supportive teaching environment.
Qualifications & Skills
Educational qualification: Bachelor's degree in Tamil languages, fluency (reading, writing, speaking) in the language is required.
B.ED is Mandatory .
Prior teaching or tutoring experience preferred (especially for school?level academic courses or language instruction). Freshers may be considered depending on proficiency and commitment.
Good communication skills -- ability to explain concepts clearly, adjust to different learning styles.
Patience, empathy, flexibility, ability to engage with learners of different ages and proficiency levels.
Comfort with online teaching: familiarity with digital tools, willingness to prepare resources for virtual delivery.
Ability to plan lessons, prepare assignments/materials, and track progress independently.
Good time?management and organizational skills.
