The OHE Supervisor is responsible for supervising and executing Overhead Equipment (OHE) installation, maintenance, and commissioning works at site. The role ensures that all OHE activities are carried out safely, as per approved drawings, specifications, and railway standards, within the project timeline.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise day-to-day OHE installation activities including mast erection, cantilever fixing, wiring, tensioning, and registration.
Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, RDSO/IR standards, and safety regulations.
Coordinate with OHE engineers, contractors, and site teams for smooth execution of work.
Monitor manpower productivity and material usage at site.
Ensure compliance with electrical safety procedures, power block rules, and traffic block requirements.
Assist in testing, inspection, and commissioning of OHE works.
Maintain daily progress reports and site records.
Coordinate with signaling, track, and civil teams to avoid work conflicts.
Identify and report site issues, delays, or safety hazards to seniors.
Ensure proper housekeeping and safe working conditions at site.
Competencies & Skills
Strong knowledge of OHE components and erection methodology
Understanding of railway electrification standards and safety norms
Ability to read and interpret OHE drawings
Good site coordination and team supervision skills
Basic documentation and reporting skills
Problem-solving and decision-making ability
Qualification
Diploma / ITI in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Experience
3-7 years of experience in OHE works for railway or metro projects
Hands-on experience in installation, maintenance, or commissioning of OHE systems
