We are looking for Offshore Associate - Offshore Structural Engineering to join our team. This role will be based at our Atkins office in Bangalore, Gurgaon and Mumbai, IN. The roles are ideally suited to high calibre engineering professionals with relevant experience of 12 years and above. Supporting Governments to achieve net zero has been established as a key focus of Atkins across the world. Within the UK, as for many regions, this relies on a mix of energy sources covering nuclear and other forms of firm power generation. This includes new and existing technologies such as carbon capture and storage, offshore wind, and other renewables, backed up by gas storage and other forms of energy storage through the means of electrical storage plus evolving areas such as hydrogen. This opportunity is for a supervise for offshore wind structures in SNCL Nuclear business. Suitable candidate will report to the head of design and analysis team in the business. We can give you the opportunity to use your technical skills to provide high quality input to our nuclear projects. Joining our team, you'll perform structural analysis and provide expert advice on the current and future integrity of offshore substructure components. The work will require using analysis techniques and procedures including Finite Element Analysis, Fracture Mechanics, Creep and Fatigue and Structural Impact Dynamics. How will you contribute to the team To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following: Deliver structural design and integrity biased design modifications in or out of the offshore wind structures. Ensure projects are delivered to SNCL and industry standards to cost, schedule and budget. Gather and maintain all criteria to ensure that the work meets all requirements. Developing team's capability in offshore wind structures. Mentor juniors by providing the training/guidance in executing the projects. Establishing strong relationships with other SNCL offices. What will you contribute Graduate or Post-graduate Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical or Civil Engineering from a recognised university. 12 years and above working engineering design and (Static, Fatigue & Fracture Assessment and Finite Element Analysis) experience within mechanical environment. You will need to demonstrate experience in at least one or more of the following areas: Exposure to certification requirements for Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) components. Experience in Linear, Nonlinear analysis, Buckling Analysis etc. Experience in Finite Element software ABAQUS/ANSYS. Fatigue and Fracture Assessment. Experience in analytical calculations of welded constructions. Experience in loads calculations for offshore wind structures. Extensive experience in use of DNV (DNV GL) codes. Experience in python coding is advantageous. Professional approach. Strong communication skills, written and verbal. Commercial awareness. Team working, being comfortable working in international teams. Ability to extract the key issues of a piece of analysis and how it applies to offshore wind substructures components design.
