This eye healthcare facility is planned to be a beacon of charity and goodwill, assuring free medical aid to the less privileged. One of our primary services will be the provision of free cataract surgeries.
By providing these surgeries, we aim to alleviate the heavy eye healthcare cost burden too often place on those least able to bear it. It is our heartfelt endeavour to aid approximately 50,000 -1,00,000 surgeries annually, providing them with a chance to see the world more clearly and live a fuller life.
The
Office Superintendent
will manage and supervise the administrative and operational functions of the eye hospital to ensure smooth, ethical, transparent, and patient-centric delivery of eye care services. The role supports clinical teams, optimizes use of donor funds, ensures statutory compliance, and upholds the hospital's charitable mission of providing affordable or free eye care to the underprivileged.
Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day administrative functioning of OPD, IPD, OT, optical, pharmacy, stores, and support services.
Ensure smooth patient registration, counselling, and admission, discharge, and referral processes.
Implement hospital SOPs, charity policies, and service standards.
Maintain discipline, punctuality, and operational efficiency across departments.
Supervise administrative, paramedical (non-clinical), and support staff.
Promote ethical conduct, teamwork, and compassionate patient care.
Supervise billing, concessions, free surgeries, and subsidized services as per norms.
Ensure transparent handling of cash, receipts, daily collections, and reports.
Coordinate with accounts for expense control, budgeting, and audits.
Oversee records maintenance of donor-funded treatments, surgeries, and services.
Ensure accurate maintenance of patient records, registers, and digital systems.
Oversee MIS reports on OPD, surgeries, beneficiaries, camps, and charity services.
Support donor reporting, utilization certificates, and impact documentation.
Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare laws, trust regulations, and statutory requirements.
Maintain hospital licenses, registrations, and timely renewals.
Support NABH / quality accreditation processes, if applicable.
Coordinate audits, inspections, and donor reviews.
Coordinate planning and execution of free or subsidised eye camps and outreach programs.
Manage logistics, staff deployment, camp documentation, and post-camp follow-up.
Ensure proper reporting of camp outcomes to management and donors.
Ensure patient-friendly, respectful, and dignified treatment for all beneficiaries.
Handle patient complaints and grievances promptly and empathetically.
Ensure cleanliness, safety, and discipline in hospital premises.
Oversee hospital assets, equipment, inventory, and consumables.
Coordinate maintenance of buildings, power backup, water supply, and IT systems.
Liaise with vendors and service providers while ensuring cost-effectiveness and transparency.
Reporting To: Medical Superintendent / Hospital Administrator / Chief Executive Officer

Proficiency in eye hospital management systems, MS Office, and reporting tools.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multi-stakeholder coordination.

Excellent coordination, documentation, and audit-handling skills
Exposure to donor-funded programs and outreach activities will be an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience: Graduate/Postgraduate in Hospital Administration, Management, Social Work, or related field, Minimum 5-10 years of experience in hospital administration, preferably in a charitable or not-for-profit eye hospital.
