Position Overview

Prime Minds is seeking a talented and motivated Odoo Developer to join our remote development team. You will work on implementing, customizing, and maintaining Odoo ERP solutions for our diverse client base across multiple industries and geographies. As a Odoo Developer, you will support our development lifecycle--from requirements analysis through deployment--and collaborate with senior developers, business analysts, and clients to deliver high-quality ERP solutions.

Key ResponsibilitiesCore Development Tasks

Develop and customize Odoo modules using Python and XML following company coding standards and best practices Create and modify Odoo views (form, tree, kanban, pivot, graph) and implement business logic through models and controllers Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code with proper error handling and unit testing Implement custom workflows, automation rules, and business process automation within Odoo Develop API integrations and custom reports (QWeb templates) to meet client specifications Participate in code reviews and implement feedback from senior developers Debug and troubleshoot issues in development, testing, and production environments
Project Collaboration

Work with the project team to understand client requirements and technical specifications Assist in data migration, import/export operations, and database management tasks Support testing and quality assurance activities, including creating test cases and identifying bugs Maintain clear communication with team members and provide regular status updates on assigned tasks Collaborate with business analysts to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Continuous Learning & Development

Stay current with Odoo framework updates and new module releases (Odoo 16, 17, 18, 19+) Learn from senior developers through mentorship and code review feedback Build expertise in domain-specific modules (accounting, HR, inventory, CRM, manufacturing, etc.) Contribute to knowledge sharing and documentation within the team Pursue relevant certifications and professional development opportunities
Client Support (as assigned)

Provide technical support and assistance to clients during implementation phases Participate in UAT (User Acceptance Testing) preparation and execution Create user documentation and training materials for implemented features Attend client meetings and demonstrations as required
Required QualificationsTechnical Skills

Programming:

Strong foundation in Python programming with understanding of OOP principles

Odoo Framework:

Basic to intermediate knowledge of Odoo architecture, models, views, and controllers (or strong desire to develop this expertise)

Web Technologies:

Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and XML

Databases:

Understanding of SQL and relational database concepts; experience with PostgreSQL preferred

Version Control:

Familiarity with Git/GitHub for source code management

Linux/Unix:

Basic command-line proficiency
Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent professional experience) 0-2 years of professional software development experience (internships, freelance work, or entry-level positions count) Demonstrated experience with at least one professional project or portfolio showcasing coding ability Coursework or hands-on experience with ERP systems is a plus

Hands-on experience with Odoo development (custom modules, module customization) Prior internship or freelance work in Odoo development or ERP implementation Familiarity with accounting, HR, inventory, manufacturing, or CRM domains Knowledge of REST APIs and integration development Experience with Docker, deployment pipelines, or CI/CD tools Understanding of business process optimization and workflow design Previous experience working in a remote team environment Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline

Remote Work Requirements

As this is a fully remote position, candidates must have:

Work Schedule & Expectations

Working Hours:

Standard business hours in IST (Monday-Friday)

Collaboration:

Real-time communication with team and client calls as needed

Availability:
