Job Description

Life Centre for Autism and Child Development is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic

Occupational Therapist

to join our Upcoming multidisciplinary Centre in Kottayam. The successful candidate will work with children on the autism spectrum, utilizing evidence-based therapies to enhance their motor, sensory, and daily living skills. You will be a key part of our mission to improve the quality of life for children with autism and their families.

Key Responsibilities

:

Perform comprehensive evaluations of children with autism to identify their sensory, motor, and functional abilities. Develop individualized therapy plans tailored to each child's needs and goals. Provide direct occupational therapy services, focusing on sensory integration, motor skills development, and daily living skills. Work collaboratively with a team of speech therapists, behavioral specialists, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care. Engage parents and caregivers in the therapeutic process, offering education and training to support ongoing development at home. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, and session notes. Contribute to case conferences and multidisciplinary meetings to ensure the best outcomes for the children we serve.

Qualifications

:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution. Valid Occupational Therapy license or eligibility for licensure. Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is highly preferred. Knowledge of sensory integration techniques and other interventions commonly used in pediatric therapy. Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to therapy. Ability to work well in a team environment and contribute to a collaborative, family-centered care model.

Preferred Skills

:

Certification in sensory integration therapy or experience in using sensory-based interventions. Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems. Prior experience working in a pediatric clinic or autism center is an asset.
