The Occupational Therapist will assess, plan, and implement therapy programs designed to help patients develop, recover, or maintain daily living and work skills. The role focuses on improving patients' psychological, social, and functional independence through structured therapeutic activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct
initial assessments
to understand patients' functional abilities, limitations, and therapy needs.
Design and implement
individualized treatment plans
to improve physical, emotional, and social well-being.
Use
therapeutic activities
(art, crafts, daily living tasks, group work, sensory and motor exercises) to help patients regain independence.
Work with patients experiencing
mental health conditions
such as depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, autism spectrum disorders, and neurodevelopmental issues.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, physiotherapists, and social workers as part of a
multidisciplinary team
.
Educate patients and caregivers on techniques to enhance
daily functioning and coping skills
.
Monitor progress, document therapy sessions, and modify treatment plans as needed.
Participate in
rehabilitation programs, community reintegration activities
, and
vocational training initiatives
.
Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and submit reports as required.
Support hospital initiatives in
patient engagement, therapeutic recreation
, and
psychosocial rehabilitation
.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
from a recognized university.
Registered with AIOTA/State Council
(if applicable).
1-3 years of experience preferred, especially in
psychiatric or neuro-rehabilitation settings
.
Freshers with strong motivation and clinical interest in mental health may also apply.

Empathy, patience, and sensitivity when dealing with patients.
Ability to work effectively as part of a
multidisciplinary clinical team

Strong documentation, observation, and analytical abilities.
Knowledge of
psychosocial interventions, sensory integration, and cognitive rehabilitation
is desirable.
