A Gynecologist is responsible for providing comprehensive healthcare to women, focusing on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of reproductive system disorders. They also manage pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care, ensuring the health and well-being of both mother and child.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and treat disorders of the female reproductive system.
Conduct routine examinations, including Pap smears, pelvic exams, and breast exams.
Provide prenatal, antenatal, and postnatal care.
Manage high-risk pregnancies and perform deliveries (normal and C-section).
Perform gynecological surgeries (e.g., hysterectomy, laparoscopy, fibroid removal).
Prescribe and monitor contraceptive methods and family planning.
Counsel patients on reproductive health, fertility, and menopause management.
Maintain accurate medical records and patient confidentiality.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals for holistic patient care.
Qualifications & Skills:
MBBS with MD/MS/DNB in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
Valid medical license/registration.
Strong clinical knowledge in women's health, pregnancy, and reproductive care.
Excellent diagnostic, surgical, and patient communication skills.
Ability to handle emergencies and critical situations with composure.
