Assess, diagnose, and manage patients in antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care.
Provide emergency and elective gynecological care.
Perform and assist in surgical procedures including cesarean sections, hysterectomies, and laparoscopies.
Participate in daily ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and emergency call duties.
Ensure timely and accurate documentation in patient records.
Patient Care & Safety:
Monitor and manage high-risk pregnancies.
Respond promptly to obstetric and gynecological emergencies (e.g., postpartum hemorrhage, ectopic pregnancy).
Work collaboratively with midwives, nurses, anesthetists, and pediatricians to provide holistic patient care.
Counsel patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and surgical procedures.
Supervision & Teaching:
Supervise and support junior doctors, interns, and medical students.
Participate in departmental teaching sessions and contribute to medical education.
Assist in the development of clinical protocols and quality improvement initiatives.
Administrative Duties:
Attend multidisciplinary meetings, mortality reviews, and audit sessions.
Contribute to clinical governance and ongoing professional development activities.
Ensure adherence to hospital policies and national healthcare guidelines.
