Job Description

Overseeing nursing staff, managing patient care on a shift, handling administrative tasks like scheduling and performance reviews, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and healthcare regulations. They also act as a liaison between staff, patients, families, and other departments, often stepping in to provide direct patient care when needed. Key responsibilities

Staff and schedule management:

Assign nurses to patients and schedule shifts to ensure adequate coverage. Conduct performance evaluations and provide training or mentorship. Assist with hiring and orienting new staff.

Patient care and operations:

Supervise and coordinate daily nursing activities to ensure high-quality care and patient safety. Monitor and evaluate patient care outcomes and address any issues that arise. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Communication and coordination:

Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, patients, families, and other healthcare professionals. Communicate doctor's instructions and explain medical procedures to patients and their families. Handle patient and family complaints or grievances.

Administrative and support duties:

Maintain accurate records of patient cases, procedures, and nurse files. Generate reports on productivity, quality, and other metrics. Assist with budget formulation and manage resources effectively.
