Key Responsibilities Patient Care Management
Ensure that patients receive safe, ethical, and high-quality nursing care.
Monitor and evaluate patient care plans and outcomes.
Address patient/family concerns and resolve complaints promptly.
Staff Supervision & Management
Supervise daily activities of nurses and support staff.
Assign duties, prepare duty rosters, and manage shift rotations.
Provide guidance, mentoring, and training to nursing staff.
Conduct performance appraisals and ensure professional growth.
Administrative & Coordination Duties
Maintain adequate staffing and manage emergency staff shortages.
Ensure proper documentation of patient records and reports.
Coordinate with doctors, specialists, and hospital administration.
Monitor adherence to hospital policies, protocols, and standards.
Quality & Safety
Ensure infection control practices are followed in all departments.
Oversee availability and proper use of medical equipment and supplies.
Conduct regular rounds to check ward hygiene, patient safety, and staff performance.
Handle emergency situations and guide the team effectively.
Training & Development
Organize in-service education programs for staff nurses.
Support orientation of new nursing staff.
Encourage continuous learning and skill development.
Compliance & Reporting
Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and accreditation standards.
Maintain incident reports, patient feedback reports, and nursing audits.
Report critical issues to hospital management.
