Job Summary:
The
Nursing Superintendent plays
a vital leadership role in ensuring compassionate, safe, and high-quality patient care across the hospital.
This position is not only about managing nursing operations, but also about guiding, supporting, and inspiring the nursing team to deliver care with empathy, discipline, and professionalism.
The
Nursing Superintendent works
closely with doctors, management, and support teams to create a positive healing environment for patients and a supportive workplace for nurses.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and support the nursing team while
fostering a culture of care, respect
, and
accountability
Ensure patients receive timely, ethical
, and
high-standard nursing care
at all times
Plan duty rosters, staffing patterns, training
, and
performance evaluations of nursing staff.
Implement and regularly
review nursing policies, procedures, and clinical protocols in line with NABH
and
statutory norms.
Promote
infection control, patient safety,
and proper
nursing documentation.
Act as a
bridge between nursing staff, doctors, patients,
and
hospital administration.
Address
patient concerns and nursing-related grievances with
sensitivity and
fairness.
Encourage
continuous learning, skill enhancement,
and
professional growth among nurses.
Monitor the proper use of
nursing equipment, supplies,
and
resources.
Participate actively in
quality improvement initiatives, audits,
and
accreditation processes.
Qualifications & Experience:
B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing (M.Sc. Nursing preferred)
GNM/ANM Nursing is required.
Valid registration with
State Nursing Council / Indian Nursing Council
10-12 years of nursing experience
, including leadership or supervisory roles
Experience in
NABH-accredited hospitals
will be an added advantage
Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership with a caring and approachable attitude
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to guide teams during high-pressure and emergency situations
Sound understanding of nursing ethics, patient rights, and hospital regulations
Good organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
