Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Care and Assessment

Conduct comprehensive physical assessments of patients upon admission and throughout their stay. Develop, implement, and document individualized plans of care based on patient needs, physician orders, and the nursing process. Administer medications and treatments accurately and timely, following the six rights of medication administration. Monitor and interpret patient vital signs, laboratory data, and other assessment findings, reporting changes in status promptly to the physician or nursing supervisor.

2. Communication and Collaboration

Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding their condition, plan of care, and discharge instructions. Collaborate with physicians, specialists, nurse practitioners, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes. Provide patient and family education on disease management, health maintenance, and self-care.

3. Documentation and Compliance

Maintain accurate and complete electronic medical records , ensuring all assessments, interventions, and outcomes are documented in a timely manner. Adhere strictly to all infection control policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. Participate inQuality Improvement initiatives and hospital committees as requested.

4. Safety and Professionalism

Ensure a safe patient environment by using appropriate equipment and adhering to fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and restraint policies. Supervise and delegate tasks to Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants as appropriate. Maintain professional competency by participating in mandatory in-service programs and continuing education.

Qualification:

Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.

Experience:

Minimum of 1-2 or 3 years of experience in an acute care setting.
