Job Summary

The Nursing OPD In-Charge is responsible for the overall coordination, supervision, and smooth functioning of Outpatient Department (OPD) nursing services. The role ensures quality patient care, efficient patient flow, staff management, compliance with NABH standards, and coordination with doctors and support departments.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical & Patient Care

Ensure high-quality nursing care to OPD patients as per hospital policies and protocols. Monitor patient flow, waiting time, and ensure patient comfort and safety. Assist doctors during consultations and procedures as required. Ensure proper triaging and prioritization of patients in OPD.
OPD Operations Management

Supervise day-to-day OPD nursing operations. Ensure availability and functionality of equipment, consumables, and emergency drugs. Coordinate with registration, billing, pharmacy, lab, radiology, and housekeeping teams. Ensure proper documentation in OPD registers and electronic medical records (EMR).
Staff Management

Prepare duty rosters and manage OPD nursing manpower. Supervise, guide, and mentor staff nurses and nursing assistants. Identify training needs and conduct on-the-job training. Ensure discipline, punctuality, and adherence to uniform and ID policies.
Quality & NABH Compliance

Ensure compliance with NABH standards, hospital SOPs, and infection control practices. Participate in audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives. Monitor incident reporting, patient complaints, and corrective actions. Ensure biomedical waste management as per guidelines.
Infection Control & Safety

Implement infection prevention and control measures in OPD. Ensure proper hand hygiene, PPE usage, and aseptic practices. Report and manage needle stick injuries and adverse events.
Administrative Responsibilities

Maintain OPD statistics, daily census, and reports. Coordinate OPD scheduling, special clinics, and camps. Support hospital administration during inspections and accreditation activities. Handle patient and attendant grievances professionally.
Qualifications & Experience

Qualification:

GNM / BSc Nursing (Mandatory)

Registration:

Valid State Nursing Council Registration

Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years of clinical experience At least 1-2 years in OPD supervision or leadership role preferred
Skills & Competencies

Strong leadership and team management skills Good communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of NABH standards and OPD workflows Patient-focused and problem-solving approach Basic computer skills (HIS/EMR)

Pay: ?25,000.00 - ?30,000.00 per month
