The Nursing Incharge will oversee and manage nursing staff and patient care services within the assigned unit/ward. The role involves ensuring high standards of clinical care, supervising nursing operations, coordinating with doctors and administrative staff, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and healthcare regulations.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Supervise, guide, and support nursing staff in day-to-day operations.
Ensure quality patient care, safety, and comfort in the assigned unit/ward.
Prepare duty rosters, allocate staff, and manage leaves/attendance.
Monitor nursing activities to ensure adherence to clinical protocols, SOPs, and hospital guidelines.
Conduct training, mentoring, and performance evaluations of nursing staff.
Coordinate with doctors, consultants, and other departments for smooth patient care.
Maintain records related to patient care, staff performance, and department reports.
Ensure adequate stock and availability of medicines, consumables, and equipment.
Handle patient complaints, concerns, and grievances professionally.
Implement infection control, safety, and hygiene practices.
Report to the Nursing Superintendent/Head of Nursing regarding unit operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
GNM / B.Sc. Nursing / M.Sc. Nursing.
Minimum
5-8 years
of clinical/nursing experience, with at least
2 years in a supervisory or incharge role
.
Registration with State Nursing Council is mandatory.
Skills Required:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
In-depth knowledge of nursing protocols, hospital policies, and patient care standards.
Ability to handle emergency situations and critical patient care.
