Job Description

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Staff Nurse with a background in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc Nursing) to join our eye care department. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient care and experience in ophthalmology is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct nursing care to patients in the eye care department, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. Assist with eye examinations, treatments, and procedures under the supervision of ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals. Educate patients and their families about eye health, post-operative care, and medication management. Monitor and document patient progress and vital signs, reporting any changes to the medical team. Administer medications and assist with the preparation of patients for surgery or diagnostic tests. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with hospital policies. Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards at all times.

Qualifications:

Valid nursing degree (GNM or BSc Nursing) from an accredited institution. Current nursing license (valid in [Insert State/Country]). Previous experience in ophthalmology or eye care is highly preferred. Strong clinical skills and knowledge of nursing best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
