Responsibilities:
Holistic Child Development:
Act as a "Mother Teacher," providing constant care, guidance, and nurturing support to young children. Focus on their social-emotional development, fostering self-esteem, confidence, and positive peer interactions.
Curriculum Implementation:
Implement the pre-primary curriculum effectively, ensuring all activities are developmentally appropriate and align with the principles of Montessori, ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education), or ECE (Early Childhood Education).
Engaging Learning Environment:
Create a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration, play-based learning, and hands-on activities. Organize and arrange learning materials to be accessible and inviting.
Instruction and Activities:
Conduct engaging and interactive activities including storytelling, songs, rhymes, art and craft, simple games, and sensory play that promote early literacy, numeracy, and fine motor skills.
Observation and Assessment:
Observe and assess children's progress regularly, documenting their developmental milestones and identifying areas where individual support may be needed.
Parent Communication:
Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with parents. Communicate effectively regarding their child's daily activities, progress, and any concerns. Conduct parent-teacher interactions as required.
Classroom Management:
Manage classroom behavior positively and effectively, promoting a harmonious and respectful environment for all children.
Hygiene and Care:
Ensure the general hygiene and well-being of children during school hours, including overseeing snack times and nap times (if applicable).
Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with co-teachers, support staff, and school administration to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment for young children.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, daily activities, and developmental observations.
Adherence to Policies:
Adhere to all school policies and procedures, especially those related to child safety, health, and well-being.
Qualifications:
Education:
Graduation
(essential).
Professional Training:
Montessori, ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education), or ECE (Early Childhood Education)
certification/diploma (essential).
Experience:
Minimum
3 years of work experience
as a Nursery Teacher or Pre-Primary Teacher in a recognized school.
