The Nursery Coordinator is responsible for supervising the pre-primary team, ensuring effective implementation of early childhood curriculum aligned with CBSE guidelines for Foundational Stage (NCF 2022), maintaining academic quality, ensuring child safety, and fostering strong school-parent partnerships. The role ensures holistic development of children aged 3-4 years through activity-based and child-centred learning.
Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with
NCF 2022 (Foundational Stage)
and school's academic plan.
Support teachers in lesson planning, classroom activities, and use of teaching-learning materials (TLM).
Ensure activity-based, play-based, and experiential learning across domains: cognitive, language, numeracy, socio-emotional, and motor skills.
Oversee continuous and comprehensive evaluation (CCE) for pre-primary, including portfolios, checklist assessments, and observations.
2. Classroom Observation & Quality Assurance
Conduct regular classroom observations and provide feedback to teachers.
Ensure smooth daily routines -- circle time, free play, activity periods, meals, and dispersal.
Monitor class displays, learning corners, and hygiene standards.
Ensure timely completion of syllabus as per school academic calendar.
3. Staff Management & Capacity Building
Supervise nursery teachers, assistant teachers, and support staff.
Provide professional development through workshops, model lessons, mentoring, and pedagogical support.
Assist in recruitment, induction, and performance evaluation of pre-primary staff.
Manage teacher schedules, substitutions, and duty rosters.
4. Child Safety, Health & Well-Being
Ensure adherence to child protection policies and safety guidelines.
Monitor hygiene practices, including sanitization, washroom routines, and snack/lunch supervision.
Maintain incident reports, medical records, and emergency protocols.
Address developmental concerns and coordinate with counsellors when needed.
5. Parent Communication & Engagement
Serve as the primary point of contact for all nursery-related queries.
Conduct orientation sessions, PTMs, counselling meetings, and curriculum briefings.
Share regular updates on student progress, class activities, and events.
Handle parent concerns with sensitivity and professionalism.
6. Events & Program Coordination
Plan and conduct pre-primary events (Sports Day, Annual Day, Festivals, Culmination Days, Open House, etc.).
Coordinate field trips, celebrations, and thematic days.
Ensure smooth transitions from Nursery to LKG/UKG.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education / Child Development / Education (B.Ed. preferred).
Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECCEd) or NTT certification.
Minimum
2-4 years
of experience in pre-primary teaching, with at least
1-2 years in a supervisory or coordinator role

Familiarity with
