We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse to join our healthcare team in providing exceptional patient care across various medical settings. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive clinical expertise, experience with diverse patient populations, and proficiency in advanced medical procedures and documentation systems. The Nurse will be responsible for delivering compassionate care while adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health histories
Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols
Perform advanced procedures such as IV infusions, catheterizations, suturing, tube feeding, and ventilator management
Manage airway and respiratory support including intubation and ventilator care
Document all patient interactions meticulously within EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks
Coordinate discharge planning and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes
Provide specialized care in areas such as ICU, trauma medicine, cardiology (including cardiac catheterization), infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics (including neonatal ventilators), behavioral health, and post-acute care
Assist with diagnostic evaluations including laboratory testing, specimen collection/processing, sonography, mammography, and medical imaging procedures
Ensure infection control standards are maintained through aseptic techniques and sterile processing protocols
Educate patients and families on health management strategies including nutrition, pain management, family planning, and health coaching
Comply with all regulatory standards such as NCQA standards and ICD coding (ICD-9/10) for accurate documentation
Participate in ongoing training to stay current with medical advances and hospital policies
Skills
Proven experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and physiology across various specialties including internal medicine, emergency medicine, pediatrics (including neonatal intensive care), geriatrics (including dementia & Alzheimer's care), behavioral health, and home & community care
Proficiency in advanced nursing procedures: IV insertion/infusion, phlebotomy/venipuncture, catheter care (including ostomy), sterile technique & infection control practices
Ability to perform complex diagnostic evaluations like sonography or medical imaging when required
Excellent patient assessment skills coupled with critical thinking for triage and acute pain management
Experience working with diverse populations including children with developmental disabilities or those requiring long-term or hospice care
Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA and NCQA standards for quality assurance
Exceptional communication skills to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and educate patients/families
