Nurse Educator
Qualification: B.Sc Nursing/M.Sc Nursing
She/He shall work under direct guidance and supervision of the Nurse Tutor-in-charge of the Training School or under Chief Nursing Services.
She/He shall actively participate and help the Nurse Tutor-in-charge to carry out all the duties and responsibilities formulated for the Nurse Tutor-in-charge with respect to: -
? Implementation of curriculum for the Student Nurses.
? Health/sickness, recreation and professional activities of Trainee Nurses.
? Staff Education Programme.
She/ He is responsible for providing education and training for all employees in the nursing department.
She/ He will provide education to the nurses in maintaining the quality of care according to NABH policies, Hospital policies and governmental regulations.
She/ He functions as a consultant, educator and facilitator for all nursing staff including nurses and mental health techs. He/she will provide orientation, mandatory in-services, continuing education and other training to meet all department and facility needs and regulatory requirements. He/she will be an active member in quality assurance and process improvement activities.
She/ He will evaluate the performance of the staff on regular basis to review the effectiveness of the training and staff.
Orientation of new nurses
Clinical support and ongoing education of nurses
Assessment of nurses using clinical competencies
Identify and respond to the learning needs of individuals and the service
Prepare the pre defined training calendar as per training need to the staff.
Provide the Training material and conduct exams.
Evaluation of the effectiveness of education within the organization
Educate the staffs regarding updated clinical practices, safe patient care, patient, employee safety measures.
Promote and participate in quality improvement activities and organizational accreditation processes
Participate in relevant committees, meetings and service activities as required and provide relevant feedback and dissemination of appropriate information
Assess and evaluate the quality of education and patient service resources and equipment required to meet the standard and patient requirements.
Ensure implementation of policies and procedures to ensure workplace health and safety standards are provided and maintained.
Take care of others in the workplace and cooperate with employer. - Supervise employees to ensure adherence
of safety policies and procedures.
Demonstrate accountability for nursing practice.
Demonstrate a high level of understanding, knowledge and skills in critical care and retrieval nursing.
Demonstrate expert clinical knowledge through problem solving and decision making.
Undertake the necessary components of the performance review process
Contribute to the nursing education component of the strategic plan of the organization.
