Prepare, calculate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals in compliance with safety and quality standards
Operate PET-CT and SPECT systems to acquire accurate, high-quality diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure to patients and staff.
Ensure correct patient positioning, provide clear procedure instructions, and continuously monitor patient safety and comfort.
Identify and manage patient complications or adverse reactions during or after nuclear medicine procedures.
Conduct routine quality control, calibration, and preventive maintenance of imaging systems, dose calibrators, radiation monitors, and hot lab equipment.
Implement and oversee contamination control and decontamination procedures for spills, leaks, or exposure incidents.
Handle, store, transport, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals and radioactive waste following AERB guidelines.
Maintain ELORA documentation and secure necessary approvals for import, procurement, and export of radiopharmaceuticals.
Keep accurate records of radiopharmaceutical usage, patient scans, quality control, and regulatory compliance logs.
Collaborate with nuclear medicine physicians, RSO, medical physicists, radiologists, oncologists and nursing staff to optimize patient care.
Participate in protocol optimization, safety audits and staff training
Contribute to departmental planning and development, ensuring adherence to radiation safety standards during installation, commissioning, or maintenance of nuclear medicine equipment.
