A Nuclear Medicine professional specializes in using radioactive substances for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. They operate advanced imaging equipment to capture detailed images of body organs and detect abnormalities. Working closely with physicians, they interpret scan results, ensure patient safety, and maintain radiation safety standards. Their expertise plays a crucial role in diagnosing cancer, heart disease, and other internal disorders using nuclear imaging techniques.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients for imaging procedures. Operate and maintain nuclear imaging equipment with safety precision. Monitor patients during and after radioactive substance administration. Record and analyze imaging data for diagnostic interpretation. Ensure radiation protection standards are followed strictly during procedures. Maintain accurate patient and equipment records for clinical documentation. Collaborate with physicians to interpret and report imaging findings. Stay updated with advancements in nuclear imaging technologies.

Required Skills:

Strong knowledge of nuclear imaging equipment and radiopharmaceuticals usage. Excellent analytical and interpretation skills for imaging data accuracy.
