We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Specialist to join our team at the Chennai manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of new product introductions (NPI) by collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and leadership. This role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement in quality standards and processes.
The Quality Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the execution of quality plans during product development, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensuring compliance with internal and external quality requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in quality engineering principles, be capable of working independently, and demonstrate the ability to influence and challenge decisions constructively.
This position requires occasional international travel to support global NPI projects and demands flexibility, initiative, and a positive attitude toward change and collaboration.
Qualifications Required
BE/BTech and minimum 3 years experience in a related field.
Preferred
Recognized English language qualification
Roles and responsibilities:Coordinate with R&D team during the product development stage to ensure all requirement are met.
Prepare plans for all NPI projects and coordinate with all stakeholders and ensure good quality product.
Monitor status of all new products ensuring effective execution against project plan KPI's
Communicate effectively the execution of the project to cross functional as well as leadership team
React positively to change of requirements
Engage with cross functional teams on a wide range of Quality issues
Provide insight into how to resolve quality issues - must show initiative in solving problems
Positive attitude when dealing with colleagues and looking to develop as an Engineer
Support other parts of the organisation where and when required
Able to travel for extended periods to support NPI projects across the globe
Skill set requirement:3+ years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a similar role
Experience in using Quality tools and techniques such as, 8D analysis, Poka Yoke etc
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in all MS Office packages including Word, Excel, Outlook & Powerpoint
Good analytical thinking and problem solving skills
Able to work efficiently in a team environment
Strong knowledge in DFMEA /PPAP/Lean Manufacturing system
Able to take direction and to work independently
Confident to challenge leadership team on decision making processes
Additional
