Job Description

An NPI (New Product Introduction) engineer oversees the transition of a new product from the design phase to full-scale manufacturing, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Their responsibilities include developing manufacturing processes, creating project timelines, collaborating with cross-functional teams (like R&D, manufacturing, and quality), and troubleshooting any issues that arise. This role involves project management, problem-solving, and ensuring products meet design and performance standards before launch. Key responsibilities Project management: Lead NPI projects from concept to launch, including creating project plans, timelines, and managing resources. Process development: Design, develop, and document manufacturing and assembly processes, including creating work instructions and test plans. Design and DFM: Work with design teams to evaluate products for manufacturability, testability, and cost (Design for Manufacturability). Cross-functional collaboration: Serve as a liaison between different departments such as R&D, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain. Troubleshooting and problem-solving: Identify and resolve production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Quality and compliance: Ensure processes meet quality standards and that products comply with relevant regulations and specifications. Documentation: Create and manage necessary documentation, including work instructions, failure analysis reports, and change orders. Required skills and qualifications Bachelor's degree in an engineering field, such as mechanical or electrical. Experience in NPI, product development, or manufacturing. Strong project management and organizational skills. Proficiency in engineering software like CAD. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO9001) is often required. Tamil candidates and Freshers only
