Key Responsibilities:

Product Innovation & Portfolio Leadership

Define and own the

innovation roadmap and product pipeline

, aligned with long-term brand and business objectives.

Identify new product opportunities and white spaces through

market trends, consumer insights, competitive analysis, and emerging science

.

Lead

end-to-end new product development

from concept to commercialization, including governance, prioritization, and stage-gate execution.

Develop, review, and approve

science-backed formulations

across powders, capsules, gummies, beverages, and other dosage formats.

Evaluate ingredient functionality, dosage efficacy, bioavailability, stability, and formulation feasibility.

Scientific Affairs & Clinical Substantiation

Design and lead

evidence-generation strategies

, including clinical trials, pilot studies, and scientific validation programs.

Partner with

CROs, research institutions, and academic bodies

to generate robust data supporting products and claims.

Own claims substantiation frameworks, scientific dossiers, and defense documentation.

Regulatory Strategy & Compliance

Own and drive

regulatory strategy

across formulation, claims, labeling, and product launches in compliance with FSSAI and applicable guidelines.

Act as the

internal regulatory authority

, enabling compliant yet competitive product positioning.

Proactively monitor regulatory updates, assess impact, and mitigate regulatory and business risks.

Partner with legal, quality, and leadership teams on regulatory interpretation and issue resolution.

Cross-functional Leadership & GTM Enablement

Translate scientific data into

credible, consumer-relevant narratives

in collaboration with marketing and brand teams.

Review and approve scientific content for

packaging, campaigns, digital platforms, and education materials

.

Support high-impact product launches through

scientific storytelling, professional education, and internal training

.

Work closely with marketing, design, operations, quality, and supply chain teams for packaging, costing, and launch planning.

External Representation & Partnerships

Represent the brand as a

scientific spokesperson

at external forums, conferences, and professional engagements.

Build, manage, and evaluate

strategic partnerships

with manufacturers, CROs, laboratories, and academia, ensuring quality, confidentiality, and long-term value.

Cross-Functional Execution & Launch Readiness

Work closely with marketing, supply chain, quality, finance, and operations teams to ensure end-to-end launch readiness

Review and approve scientific and regulatory inputs for packaging, claims, and product communication.

Support internal teams with technical clarifications, product knowledge, and documentation.

Ensure smooth handover from development to manufacturing and commercial teams.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in

Food Science, Nutrition, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related field

.

10+ years of experience

in product innovation, scientific affairs, regulatory strategy, or R&D within:

o Nutrition / nutraceuticals

o Functional foods / wellness

o FMCG health or clinical nutrition

Proven experience in:

o End-to-end product development and portfolio ownership

o Regulatory compliance and claim substantiation

o Clinical research oversight and evidence generation

o Cross-functional and external stakeholder leadership

Strong understanding of

FSSAI regulations

, labeling, and documentation.

Ability to operate in a

fast-paced, high-growth (D2C or consumer brand) environment

with strong ownership and execution focus.
