Job Summary



We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented

NPD & Quality Engineer

to join our manufacturing team specializing in automotive seat structures. This role bridges new product development and quality assurance functions to ensure seamless integration of new products into production while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities



New Product Development (NPD):



Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, production, supply chain) for smooth introduction of new seat structure products. Interpret and review technical drawings, customer specifications, and manufacturing feasibility. Participate in design reviews, DFMEA, and PFMEA activities. Coordinate prototype development, tooling, and pre-production trials. Prepare and manage APQP and PPAP documentation in line with automotive standards. Track and manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables for product launches.

Quality Assurance:



Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions using tools like 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone diagrams. Monitor in-process and final product quality to ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and customer requirements. Develop and update Control Plans, Inspection Standards, and Quality Check Sheets. Conduct internal quality audits and support external (customer/third-party) audits. Address customer complaints and ensure timely resolution of quality issues. Work with suppliers on quality approvals and resolving issues related to incoming materials or components.

Qualifications



Required:



Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Automotive / Industrial Engineering or related discipline. 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within the automotive manufacturing sector. Sound knowledge of NPD processes and quality tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA. Familiarity with automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001). Proficiency in CAD tools (CATIA, SolidWorks) and MS Office Suite. Strong communication, analytical thinking, and project management skills.

Preferred:



Experience in the manufacturing of seat structures or related automotive components. Exposure to welding processes, metal forming, or assembly operations. Certifications such as CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) or Six Sigma Green Belt.

Working Conditions



Role involves both office and shop floor presence. Occasional travel may be required to customer or supplier sites.
