The Production Incharge is responsible for overseeing the entire manufacturing process to ensure smooth, efficient, and high-quality production. In a gears manufacturing setup, this includes managing machining, heat treatment, assembly, and inspection processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning:
Develop and manage production schedules to meet delivery timelines.
Resource Management:
Ensure optimal use of manpower, machines, and materials.
Process Monitoring
: Supervise daily operations, monitor workflow, and resolve bottlenecks.
Quality Control:
Ensure products meet dimensional and metallurgical specifications.
Team Supervision:
Lead and train production staff, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Coordination
: Work closely with procurement, maintenance, and quality departments.
Reporting:
Maintain production logs, downtime records, and performance metrics.
Continuous Improvement:
Implement lean manufacturing and process optimization initiatives

New Product Development (NPD) - Roles & Responsibilities
NPD personnel focus on designing, developing, and industrializing new gear products. Their role is crucial for innovation and staying competitive in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
Concept Development:
Collaborate with design teams to create new gear concepts based on customer requirements.
Feasibility Analysis:
Evaluate manufacturability, cost, and performance of new designs.
Prototype Development:
Oversee the creation and testing of prototypes.
Process Design:
Develop new manufacturing processes or modify existing ones to suit new products.
Tooling & Fixtures:
Design and validate tools, jigs, and fixtures required for new gear production.
Documentation:
Prepare process sheets, control plans, and work instructions.
Cross-functional Coordination:
Work with R&D, production, quality, and marketing teams.
Launch Support
: Ensure smooth transition from prototype to mass production
Essential Technical Skills:
Manufacturing Processes:
Deep understanding of gear cutting, grinding, heat treatment, and assembly.
CNC & Conventional Machining:
Knowledge of machine operations and programming.
Quality Control:
Familiarity with inspection tools (CMM, gear testers) and standards (ISO, AGMA).
Lean Manufacturing:
Experience with Kaizen, 5S, and waste reduction techniques.
ERP Systems:
Proficiency in production planning and tracking software.
Gear Design:
Knowledge of gear geometry, materials, and performance calculations.
Process Engineering:
Ability to design and optimize manufacturing processes.
Tooling Design:
Skills in designing jigs, fixtures, and special tools.
Testing & Validation:
Understanding of prototype testing and failure analysis.
