Job Description

Lead and manage the entire NPD process from RFQ, feasibility study, DFM, tooling development, trial runs, validation, and handover to production.

Work with production from samples to pilot lot to mass production ramp up.

Work closely with customers to understand technical requirements, specifications, and application needs.

Coordinate with tool design & tool room teams to ensure robust die design, tooling manufacturing, and trials.

Drive APQP, PPAP, and validation activities, ensuring adherence to customer quality standards.

Collaborate with production, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Conduct value engineering & cost optimization during design and development.

Maintain project timelines, track milestones, and report status to management and customers.

Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 / ISO standards in NPD processes.

Mentor and develop a small team of engineers to strengthen NPD capabilities.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education: BE / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Metallurgy Engineering.

Experience: 10-15 years in aluminium & zinc die casting industry with at least 5+ years in NPD/project management roles.

Strong understanding of die casting processes, tooling, machining, and secondary operations.

Hands-on knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, DFM, GD&T, CAD/CAM.

Experience working with Tier-1 automotive / industrial OEM customers preferred.

Excellent communication, customer handling, and project management skills.

Strong problem-solving and leadership abilities.
