. The role involves product innovation, prototyping, cost optimization, certification, and ensuring compliance with global safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in appliance product development and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver market-ready products within defined timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Product Design & Features
Develop innovative and user-friendly designs (digital touch, multi-function modes, smart app connectivity).
Ensure compliance with
food safety standards (CE/RoHS)
.
Optimize ergonomics, compactness, and ease of cleaning.
2. Thermal & Electrical Validation
Ensure accurate temperature control (5C).
Conduct oil-free frying performance tests.
Validate product safety: auto cut-off, overheating protection, insulation resistance, and earthing compliance.
3. Prototype & Testing
Build and validate prototypes against customer expectations and certification norms.
Perform life cycle testing (minimum
1000 hrs
for heating elements).
Test food-grade materials for baskets, coatings, and plastics.
4. Supplier & Cost Management
Identify and develop reliable suppliers for heating elements, controllers, and food-grade materials.
Optimize BOM and achieve target costing through localization and
value engineering
.
5. Manufacturing & Assembly Readiness
Define process flow for the assembly line.
Ensure readiness of jigs, fixtures, quality checkpoints, and
EOL (end-of-line) testers
.
6. Certification & Compliance
Ensure certifications:
BIS/ISI, CE, UL, and RoHS
.
Validate product safety, EMC, and energy efficiency standards.
7. Time & Market Competitiveness
Launch new models in sync with seasonal/market demand (festival readiness).
Benchmark products against key competitors (Philips, Havells, Bajaj).
