Key Responsibilities:
1. Product Concept & Design
Develop innovative cooler designs aligned with
market trends
(energy-efficient, stylish, compact).
Ensure compliance with
BIS, ISI, and BEE energy rating standards
.
Introduce advanced features such as
inverter compatibility, low power consumption, and silent operation
.
2. Prototype Development & Validation
Build and validate prototypes within project timelines.
Conduct
TR, Air Delivery, cooling efficiency, body strength, and performance tests
.
Coordinate with IQC for validation of critical components (motors, water pumps, plastic parts, GI, aluminium, copper, SS, MS).
3. Cost & Sourcing
Optimize
BOM (Bill of Materials)
to achieve target costs.
Identify and develop alternate vendors for critical parts (motors, pumps, moulded components).
Drive
localization of components
to reduce dependency on imports.
4. Process & Tooling Readiness
Finalize
moulds, jigs, fixtures, and assembly line setups
.
Conduct process capability studies for
injection moulding, sheet metal, and assembly operations
.
5. Quality & Reliability
Validate design through
environmental tests
: humidity, dust, vibration, drop, and endurance.
Ensure
motor and pump life testing ? 1500-2000 hrs
.
Implement
CAPA
for field failure issues.
6. Time-to-Market
Deliver new product launches within agreed timelines (season readiness).
Oversee smooth ramp-up from
pilot batch to mass production
.
