as the primary CAD/CAM/CAE tool, ensuring timely delivery, cost optimization, quality compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities1. New Product Development & Project Management
Plan, execute, and monitor
NPD projects
as per APQP / PPAP / customer requirements.
Define project timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk mitigation plans.
Coordinate with customers for technical discussions, feasibility studies, and design approvals.
2. Design & Engineering (UG NX)
Lead
3D modeling, drafting, and assemblies
using
UG NX
.
Review and approve
part designs, tooling designs, GD&T, and engineering drawings
.
Ensure design for
manufacturability (DFM), assembly (DFA), and cost optimization
.
Guide the team on NX modules such as:
Part Modeling
Drafting
Assembly
Surface Modeling (if required)
CAM (basic understanding preferred)
3. Cross-Functional Coordination
Work closely with
Manufacturing, Quality, Tool Room, SCM, and Production
teams.
Support
trial runs, pilot production, and process validation
.
Ensure smooth transition from development to mass production.
4. Quality & Compliance
Ensure compliance with
ISO / IATF 16949 / customer-specific standards
.
Support preparation of
DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP documents
.
Address design-related non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
5. Cost & Time Optimization
Drive
value engineering and cost reduction initiatives
during design and development.
Ensure projects are delivered
within budget and timelines
.
6. Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and develop
design and NPD engineers
.
Allocate tasks, review performance, and conduct technical training on UG NX.
