The Non-Clinical Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all non-clinical support services within the hospital, specifically focusing on laundry services, housekeeping, and maintenance. This role plays a critical part in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Laundry Operations
Oversee daily laundry operations including collection, washing, drying, and distribution of linens and uniforms
Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed
Monitor inventory of linens and coordinate procurement as needed
Implement quality control measures to maintain hygiene and fabric integrity
Housekeeping
Supervise housekeeping staff and ensure cleanliness standards across all hospital areas
Develop and enforce cleaning schedules and checklists
Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with hospital hygiene standards
Manage waste disposal in accordance with biomedical waste regulations
Maintenance
Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance of hospital infrastructure and equipment
Liaise with vendors and contractors for repairs and upgrades
Maintain records of maintenance activities and ensure timely resolution of issues
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
Team Management
Recruit, train, and evaluate non-clinical staff
Develop SOPs and training modules for operational efficiency
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Reporting & Compliance
Prepare and present operational reports to senior management
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, government regulations, and accreditation standards
Participate in audits and inspections by external bodies
Education Graduate preferably with Management QualificationExperience
Minimum 10 years of experience in hospital/hotel operations or facility management
Knowledge
Knowledge of hospital hygiene standards, infection control protocols, and facility maintenance practices.
Well-versed in laundry and housekeeping operations, regulatory compliance, vendor management, and safety procedures.
Familiarity with hospital information systems and inventory tracking tools.
