About the Role

We are seeking an experienced

Node.js Developer

with a strong command of

Express.js, MySQL, JavaScript

, and

system design principles

. This role is ideal for developers who thrive in a

product-based environment

and are passionate about building scalable, efficient, and high-performance backend systems.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using

Node.js

and

Express.js

Architect and implement

RESTful APIs

with well-structured data flow and error handling Work with

MySQL

to write optimized queries, design schemas, and ensure data consistency Apply

system design

best practices to ensure scalability, modularity, and maintainability Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend, DevOps, and product managers Conduct

code reviews

, contribute to technical documentation, and mentor junior developers (for senior-level candidates) Identify performance bottlenecks and implement improvements in a production environment Stay current with emerging technologies and frameworks in backend and system architecture

Required Skills

3-7 years of hands-on experience in

Node.js

and

Express.js

Strong experience in

MySQL

- query optimization, indexing, joins, schema design Excellent command of

JavaScript (ES6+)

and asynchronous programming Deep understanding of

system design

, design patterns, and backend architecture Proven ability to build, secure, and scale RESTful APIs Proficiency with

Git

, version control, and continuous integration pipelines

Preferred Skills

Experience with

caching tools

(Redis, Memcached) Knowledge of

message queues

(Kafka, RabbitMQ) Exposure to

cloud platforms

like AWS, GCP, or Azure Familiarity with Docker or containerized environments Unit testing using Mocha, Chai, Jest or similar frameworks

Currently working (or has prior experience) in a

product-based company

Demonstrates a deep understanding of system performance and reliability Can take ownership of modules/features and deliver independently Strong communication and problem-solving skills
