We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented NOC Engineer (L1/L2) to support our 24x7 Global IT Infrastructure monitoring and operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring availability, performance, and security across a wide range of systems including servers, networks, cloud services, databases, storage, and applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Monitoring & Incident Response
Monitor global IT infrastructure including servers, cloud services, network devices, storage systems, telephony, and enterprise applications using industry-standard tools.
Track system health metrics such as uptime, CPU, memory, disk usage, and logs.
Respond to s related to outages, performance degradation, or capacity issues; take appropriate actions to mitigate.
Escalate unresolved or complex issues to L2/L3 support teams in a timely manner.
Server & Virtualization Support
Monitor and maintain health of physical and virtual servers (VMware ESXi).
Perform basic VM operations: start, stop, reset, and troubleshoot network connectivity issues within virtual environments.
Ensure regular server patching and log reviews.
Database & Backup Support
Monitor SQL Server, Oracle, and RDS databases for performance and availability.
Perform basic administrative tasks like user/role management and running simple queries.
Verify and manage backup jobs, conduct routine restore tests, and ensure backup integrity.
Cloud Services (AWS/GCP/Azure)
Monitor AWS EC2, RDS, and S3 using CloudWatch and other native tools.
Manage S3 bucket configurations (permissions, versioning, encryption).
Respond to cloud-related s and assist in basic troubleshooting.
Networking & Security Monitoring
Monitor routers, switches, firewalls, and communication links for availability and performance.
Assist in diagnosing and resolving connectivity issues.
Support security systems like Cisco ISE and Umbrella by monitoring access logs, events, and user authentication issues.
Enforce network access policies and manage guest user access.
Active Directory & User Management
Perform user account management: creation, modification, deactivation, password resets, and permission control.
Monitor AD health using tools like Event Viewer and AD Replication tools.
Tools & Technologies:
Monitoring Tools: SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, Zabbix, Datadog, AWS CloudWatch.
Platforms: VMware ESXi, AWS (EC2, S3, RDS), Microsoft Azure, GCP.
Databases: SQL Server, Oracle, AWS RDS.
Backup Solutions: Veeam, Commvault, or similar.
Directory Services: Active Directory, LDAP.
Network Equipment: Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper.
Required Skills:
Basic knowledge of networking concepts (OSI model, VLANs, routing).
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Good verbal and written communication for stakeholder interaction and escalation handling.
Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
