. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional, evidence-based care to critically ill and premature newborns, support families through complex clinical situations, and collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to promote positive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive, high-quality nursing care to premature and critically ill neonates in Level II/III/IV NICU settings.
Conduct continuous patient assessments, monitor vital signs, interpret clinical data, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
Administer medications, treatments, and advanced therapeutic interventions per provider orders and NICU protocols.
Operate and troubleshoot specialized equipment such as ventilators, CPAP, incubators, infusion pumps, and monitoring devices.
Assist with and support complex procedures (e.g., line insertions, intubations, transfusions).
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in accordance with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
Educate and support parents and families on newborn care, feeding plans, safety, and discharge planning.
Collaborate closely with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, lactation consultants, and other multidisciplinary team members.
Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and quality improvement standards within the NICU.
Contribute to unit-based initiatives, continuing education, and clinical skill development.
