The Unit HR Head will be responsible for leading and managing all Human Resources functions at the unit level. This role involves strategic HR planning, workforce management, statutory compliance, employee relations, and alignment of HR initiatives with organizational goals in a fast-paced media environment.
Key Responsibilities:HR Leadership & Strategy
Head and oversee all HR operations at the unit level.
Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business and editorial requirements.
Act as a strategic partner to unit leadership and department heads.
Recruitment & Manpower Planning
Manage end-to-end recruitment for editorial, circulation, production, and corporate functions.
Forecast manpower requirements and ensure timely hiring.
Coordinate with recruitment partners and internal stakeholders.
Employee Relations & Engagement
Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters, and conflict resolution.
Drive employee engagement initiatives to improve morale and retention.
Ensure healthy industrial relations at the unit.
Statutory Compliance & Labour Laws
Ensure compliance with all applicable labour laws including PF, ESI, CLRA, Shops & Establishment, Factories Act (if applicable).
Coordinate inspections, audits, and statutory submissions.
Maintain accurate statutory records and registers.
Payroll & Compensation Management
Oversee payroll processing, salary structuring, increments, and incentive plans.
Ensure timely salary disbursement and statutory deductions.
Manage vendor coordination for payroll and HR systems.
Performance Management
Implement and monitor performance appraisal systems.
Support department heads in performance reviews and improvement plans.
Training & Development
Identify training needs and organize skill development programs.
Support leadership development and succession planning.
Policy & Process Management
Draft, review, and implement HR policies and SOPs.
Ensure consistent application of HR policies across departments.
Reporting & MIS
Prepare and present HR MIS, attrition reports, compliance status, and manpower analytics to management.
Qualifications:
MBA / PGDM in Human Resources or related field.
Strong exposure to HR operations in
media / newspaper / circulation-driven organizations
preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership and people management skills
In-depth knowledge of labour laws and statutory compliance
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Strategic thinking with strong operational execution
Preferred Experience:
Prior experience in Newspaper / Media / Publishing industry
Experience handling large workforce including editorial, circulation, and field staff

Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹120,000.00 per month
