Role Summary

We are looking for a

Newsletter Editor

who blends creativity with precision. You will oversee the entire lifecycle of our daily newsletters, from concept to publish ensuring every edition is engaging, emotionally resonant, error-free, and aligned with our brand voice. This role requires sharp editing skills, strong storytelling instincts, and an ability to collaborate with writers, designers, and the technical team.

Key Responsibilities

Newsletter Planning & Strategy

Plan daily and weekly newsletter themes aligned with events, seasons, and US cultural moments. Collaborate with writers to develop ideas, angles, and emotional storytelling approaches. Ensure newsletters follow LettuceCelebrate's tone: warm, simple, friendly, and relatable.

Content Editing & Quality Control

Review and edit newsletter drafts for clarity, flow, emotional impact, and brand voice consistency. Ensure correctness in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting. Verify accuracy of all event references, dates, and contextual details. Maintain a checklist-driven QC workflow to ensure uniform quality.

Creative Direction

Guide writers on storytelling, structure, and emotional tone. Suggest improvements in visuals, image prompts, headlines, and CTA text. Ensure all newsletters include relatable, culturally relevant American elements.

Technical & Publishing Responsibilities

Coordinate with the tech team to ensure proper formatting, layout, hyperlinks, and metadata. Review deliverability pre-checks: subject lines, preview text, link health, responsive layout. Publish newsletters on WordPress and schedule sends through the email platform. Collaborate with the analytics team on open rates, click rates, and performance insights.

Cross-Team Collaboration

Work with image creators and designers for banner concepts and illustrations. Communicate with product and marketing teams to align campaigns with broader goals. Maintain consistency across newsletters, website posts, and e-cards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience as a Newsletter Editor, Content Editor, or similar role. Strong command of American English writing and editing. Excellent storytelling skills; ability to elevate emotional tone without sounding poetic or artificial. Ability to break down briefs and guide writers clearly. Familiarity with email marketing platforms and basic WordPress. Strong eye for visual and thematic alignment. Exceptional attention to detail and QC-driven thinking. Ability to work fast, juggle daily deadlines, and maintain a calm, solution-oriented attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in greeting card content, emotional writing, or lifestyle/editorial content. Understanding of US cultural events, holidays, and seasonal themes. Experience working with AI-based image generation prompts (nice to have). Basic understanding of SEO and newsletter analytics.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Newsletter accuracy (zero errors standard). On-time delivery of daily newsletter. Engagement metrics: open rate, click rate, scroll depth. Writer satisfaction and production efficiency. Brand consistency and emotional resonance scores (internal review).
