Job Description

ARCALNTIC is looking for a News Writer, Candidate will be responsible for writing clear, concise, and factual news stories under tight deadlines. Candidate will monitor news wires and real-time developments to write breaking stories and quick-turnaround updates for our audience. This role is best suited for someone who thrives in a high-pressure newsroom environment and has a strong command of journalistic writing.

Key Responsibilities:

Write timely and accurate news stories based on press releases, briefings, interviews, and events. Monitor breaking news and live updates from trusted sources and agencies. Convert complex information into simple, accessible, and engaging content for the general audience. Ensure all articles meet our editorial standards, including factual accuracy, grammar, and style. Update developing stories as new information becomes available. Collaborate with editors, reporters, and digital producers to align coverage across platforms. Follow SEO best practices and write headlines, summaries, and metadata accordingly. Occasionally assist with live blogs, breaking news tickers, or quick social media updates.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field. 1 year of professional writing or newsroom experience. Strong writing, grammar, and editing skills. Ability to write quickly and clearly in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with AP Style or similar journalistic guidelines. Understanding of SEO and audience engagement strategies for news content. High attention to detail and strong news judgment.

Nice to have Skills:

Experience with digital-first publishing and content management systems. Knowledge of current events, especially in politics, world affairs, business, or technology. Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple deadlines. Basic understanding of photo sourcing, captions, and copyright rules.
