About the Role
The Ground Reporter will be responsible for covering local news, political developments, social issues, and public interest stories directly from the field. The role involves on-ground reporting, interviews, and coordination with the editorial team for digital or television content production.
Key Responsibilities
Gather and verify news stories from Gorakhpur and nearby districts.
Conduct on-camera interviews with locals, political leaders, and subject experts.
Cover events, press conferences, and breaking news situations in real time.
Coordinate with the newsroom for story approval, video upload, and script development.
Create short news clips, vox-pop videos, and ground reports for digital platforms (YouTube, Instagram, etc.).
Maintain strong local network connections for timely information flow.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or related field (preferred).
Strong interest in news, politics, and current affairs.
Confident on-camera presence and clear Hindi communication.
Ability to shoot videos using a mobile phone or camera equipment.
Understanding of digital media formats and social media trends.
Basic editing or story scripting skills will be an advantage.
Preferred Experience
1-3 years of reporting experience (freshers with good communication skills may also apply).
Prior work with digital or regional news channels will be a plus.
Compensation
Based on experience and reporting skills.
Travel allowance and story-based incentives may be provided.
