Role & ResponsibilitiesField Reporting & Live Coverage
Cover breaking news, spot news, and scheduled events on location
Deliver live reports from the field for television broadcast
Coordinate with the newsroom, producers, and cameramen during live coverage
Provide real-time updates as events develop
News Gathering & Investigation
Identify newsworthy stories related to politics, crime, civic issues, social matters, and public interest
Conduct interviews with officials, witnesses, experts, and the general public
Gather facts, visuals, sound bites, and supporting documents
Develop strong local sources and maintain contacts
Story Writing & Script Preparation
Write clear, accurate, and concise news scripts for TV bulletins
Prepare voice-overs (VO), packages, and live scripts
Ensure content is factual, balanced, and legally safe for broadcast
Editorial Standards & Ethics
Follow journalistic ethics, broadcast guidelines, and channel policies
Verify all information before airing
Avoid sensationalism, bias, and misinformation
Handle sensitive stories responsibly
Coordination & Teamwork
Work closely with editors, producers, anchors, cameramen, and video editors
Assist in planning daily news coverage and special reports
Participate in editorial meetings and briefings
Digital & Social Media Support
Share breaking news updates on the channel's digital platforms
Assist in creating short video clips for social media
Monitor trending topics relevant to the channel
Skills Required
Excellent on-camera presence and communication skills
Strong command over language (English / Hindi / Regional language as required)
Confidence in live reporting situations
Good interviewing and questioning skills
Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
Basic knowledge of camera work and news production
Educational Qualification
Degree or Diploma in Journalism, Mass Communication, or Media Studies (preferred)
Experience
Experience in TV news reporting preferred
Freshers with strong communication skills may apply
