Duties

Research and investigate news stories to provide accurate and timely information. Write clear, compelling articles in AP style that adhere to editorial guidelines. Conduct interviews with sources to gather insights and quotes for stories. Edit and proofread content for clarity, grammar, and factual accuracy. Utilize photography and videography skills to enhance storytelling across multiple platforms. Manage social media accounts to promote news stories and engage with the audience. Perform fact-checking to ensure all information is verified before publication. Collaborate with editors and other reporters on larger projects or breaking news coverage. Stay updated on current events and trends relevant to the community.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field preferred. Strong writing skills with experience in copy editing and proofreading. Familiarity with AP style guidelines is essential. Proficiency in photography, videography, and video production techniques is a plus. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply; proficiency in additional languages is an asset. Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively. Strong research skills with a keen eye for detail. Experience in social media management to effectively reach diverse audiences. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
