Job Title: New Product Development - Lead

Department:

Location: Bengaluru

Reports To: Engineering Manager / Head of Design

Position Overview:

The NPD Lead will be responsible for managing and executing end-to-end New Product Development

projects in the mechanical domain, with a strong focus on machine manufacturing and special purpose

machines (SPMs). This role involves driving product innovation, ensuring timely delivery, and

collaborating across departments to launch high-quality, cost-effective, and manufacturable products.

Key Responsibilities:

? Lead the complete NPD cycle from idea generation, concept design, prototyping, testing, to

production handover.

? Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Sales)

to ensure project objectives are met.

? Develop project timelines, allocate resources, and track progress against milestones.

? Prepare and review 3D models, detailed drawings, and technical documentation.

? Conduct feasibility studies, material selection, and risk assessments for new designs.

? Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety norms, and customer requirements.

? Facilitate design validation and reliability testing for new products.

? Identify opportunities for innovation, cost reduction, and performance enhancement.

? Mentor team members and build strong technical capabilities in the NPD team.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

? Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's degree preferred).

? 8-12 years of experience in new product development in a machine manufacturing/SPM

environment.

? Proven track record of successfully launching new products from concept to market.

? Strong knowledge of CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD) and GD&T.

? Hands-on experience in prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical systems.

? Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, casting, welding, and

assembly.

? Excellent project management skills, with proficiency in tools like MS Project or similar.

? Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.

Preferred Skills:

? Exposure to automation, robotics, and electro-mechanical integration.

? Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems.

? Experience in DFMEA, APQP, and other product development frameworks.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹403,053.71 - ₹1,611,583.95 per year
