JD - NPD Sourcing (Raw Materials: Bags, Accessories, etc.)

Zouk is a 100% Vegan, Proudly Indian lifestyle brand known for its stylish, functional, and sustainable handbags and accessories.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled New Product Development (NPD) Sourcing Executive to support the sourcing, development, and alignment processes of raw materials used in bag manufacturing -- including fabrics, linings, zippers, trims, metals, accessories, and packaging components.

The role will focus on building and maintaining the raw material database, developing new sources, coordinating sampling and testing, and ensuring timely availability of approved materials for production.

Key Responsibilities:

? Raw Material Development & Sourcing

? Identify and onboard new suppliers for fabrics, linings, zippers, metal trims, and other bag components.

? Collaborate with design and product teams to develop and source new materials aligned with design intent, cost, and quality standards.

? Evaluate and benchmark suppliers based on quality, lead time, and cost competitiveness. ? Ensure material development aligns with sustainability and compliance standards.

? Bill of Materials (BOM) Management

? Create and maintain accurate BOMs for new developments, focusing on raw material specifications.

? Ensure all material codes, descriptions, and supplier details are correctly captured in the system.

? Regularly update the BOM to reflect design or supplier changes.

? Sampling & Quality Coordination

? Coordinate raw material sampling, approvals, and lab testing (color fastness, rub test, strength, etc.).

? Ensure adherence to internal quality and technical standards before final approval.

? Maintain reference libraries and digital records for all approved materials.

? Vendor & Supply Chain Coordination

? Liaise with suppliers for sampling timelines, quotations, and order follow-ups.

? Work closely with supply chain and production teams to ensure material readiness for pilot and bulk production.

? Support cost negotiations and optimize vendor mix for efficiency and reliability.

? System & Process Management

? Maintain sourcing databases, track material performance, and update internal systems with supplier data.

? Identify opportunities for process improvement across sourcing, approval, and material lifecycle management.

? Ensure all sourcing processes comply with company policies and audit requirements.

? Cross-Functional Collaboration

? Coordinate between design, production, quality, and procurement teams to align on material requirements and timelines.

? Provide sourcing support for new launches and ensure all raw materials are validated and approved before production handover.

? Reporting & Documentation

? Prepare regular reports on sourcing status, vendor performance, and cost analysis.

? Maintain complete documentation for all material developments, testing reports, and supplier communications.

Qualifications:

? Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Production, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

? 2-4 years of experience in raw material sourcing or NPD roles, preferably in the fashion accessories or handbag manufacturing industry.

? Strong understanding of textile materials, trims, and hardware components used in bag production.

? Proficiency in BOM or ERP systems.

? Excellent negotiation, analytical, and vendor management skills.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: ?600,000.00 - ?800,000.00 per year
