GIA India Laboratory Private Limited Job Title : Manager-Security Role: Ensure effective security, safety and emergency response preparedness at GIA India and Middle East operations and provide leadership to the safety and security staff at company\'s international business units in India Essential Duties: Physical Security Operations: 25% - S ecurity risks are identified and all necessary remediation, acceptance, mitigation, or transference of these risks is managed in an efficient and timely manner. - Gather information regarding Security risks, undertake risk evaluation / prioritization and disseminate this information to the relevant key individuals accordingly. - Establish effective access-control checks and monitoring of the people visiting the company. - Coordinate and/or conduct security related investigations as well as manage security issues and incidents. - Support the business regarding the development and implementation of the Corporate Security Policies / Standards and the appropriate local policies, programs, procedures and guidelines in order to prevent or minimize losses and business disruptions. - Assist in the development of workable practices and procedures for employee and visitors. - Manage the compliance with all Corporate Security rules, standards, guidelines and locally applicable legislation. - Establish working relationships with key individuals in staff and line positions throughout the site regarding Security and Health & Safety matters appropriately. - Plan, co-ordinate and supervise operational security activities and projects. - Conducts internal security audits. - Provides leadership, advice and counsel to all security staff in achieving current and long rage strategic program objectives. - Conducts new employee orientation program to explain them about the Safety and Security policy - Establish liaison with Local Government agencies, local authorities, security services vendors, professional security organizations. - Mentors and develops security team by, managing work allocation, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic. - Imparts training to the security staff through regular briefings on Technical Safety & Security operations: 25% - Maintains and ensures all security technical systems are operational at all-times with no undue risk exposure to business. - Maintains oversight on fire safety systems upkeep and upgrade to ensure no fire safety risk exposures - Identifies exposures and to recommend and develop corrective plans as appropriate. - Ensures standard installation, commissioning & testing of equipment in coordination with respective vendors. - Assess and ensure the system is upgraded as appropriate. Safety, Emergency Preparedness and Response: 30% - Responsible for planning, developing and implementing safety plans/programs such as Emergency Response and Crisis Management, Incident Management and/or Investigation. - Carries out safety risk assessments and submits reports identifying the improvement areas. - Reviews live-CCTV monitoring operations and ensures quick response to any security/safety situation. - Monitors external environment through TV and other sources and alerts superiors about any issues or event which may potentially have an impact on company operations or staff-safety. - Reviews and implements emergency response plan and conducts emergency preparedness drills. - Conducts training & testing of security staff on emergency response. No major noncompliance during audits, drills and in emergency situations. - Writes procedures for all existing and new activities including departmental response in probable non-routine situations. - Ensures all security and safety incidents are reported, recorded, investigated and timely closed with effective corrective actions within agreed timelines. - Applies effective occupational safety measures to ensure no undue people-safety risk exposure. - Ensures regulatory and statutory compliance conducting bi-annual safety audits & gap closure following the RJC guidelines. Internal Audits & Records Management: 20% - Ensures maintenance of required documentation as per legal & regulatory requirement. - Maintains and complies with the legal register. - Audits material management records to ensure compliance to the company policy. - Audits visitor management records to ensure compliance to the company policy Audits & analyzes system-defect logs and assist in improving maintenance record (efficiency). - Audits and analyzes fire safety system impairment log and submits it as appropriate. - Audits & maintains safety & security assets list with required spares. - Maintains various authorization matrixes with required approvals and ensures updates on regular intervals, such as for facility access, vault\'s access, video review, material exits approvals, cell phone inside lab area, roll-call list etc. - Maintains and submits required regular reports to the management.
